About Mebuar

Hello, I’m Jenn.

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by textiles: their texture, their drape, the quiet way they embrace the body. My mother was a seamstress, and I grew up among threads, patterns, and the soft hum of her sewing machine. Somewhere between her hands and mine, that passion was passed down.

MEBUAR was born in Madrid from that inheritance, and from a simple belief: that the fibres closest to our skin deserve to be beautiful, gentle, and made to last.

The more I learned about natural fibres, the more I fell in love with them. They breathe, soften with time, and age beautifully. They became the foundation of MEBUAR, shaping a collection of refined wardrobe essentials designed in Madrid and crafted in Europe from carefully selected natural materials.

The Name

Mebuar

To dress, for oneself.

In Bisió, my mother tongue from Equatorial Guinea, mebuar means “I get dressed”. Simple words that hold something profound: the quiet act of dressing for yourself.

Because getting dressed is never only about covering ourselves. It is the first gesture of every morning, a small act of care before meeting the world. It is buttoning a cardigan slowly, feeling the softness of a natural fibre against the skin, and recognising ourselves in the mirror before stepping outside.

That idea sits at the heart of MEBUAR. We create timeless pieces designed to be worn and loved for years, far beyond fleeting trends and seasons. Pieces that never ask for attention, yet stay with us quietly, becoming part of everyday life.
